the 54oz Porterhouse steak pre-order (48 hour advance)

With many similarities to a T-bone steak, the porterhouse steak is a truly indulgent piece of meat and is made up of two steaks separated by a bone. This cut is the best of both worlds as on one side of the bone is a tender fillet, whilst the other is a succulent strip steak. It is a pricier cut, yet is deservedly so as it is large, tender and as it is an adequately marbled, bone-in cut is flavoursome and tender.

At Henbrooks, we are now taking advanced 48 hour pre-order for this very special steak. This 2 person sharer is £125 and includes 4 sides and a choice of sauce. A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required which will be deducted from your final bill.

Porterhouse pre-order

traditional sunday roasts 12pm - 3pm.

Sundays wouldn't be the same without having a Sunday Roast with your friends and family. This traditional Sunday meal dates back to the 1700s. During the industrial revolution, families would place a cut of meat into the oven as they got ready for church.

​

At the Horse & Groom, we use the finest local beef and pork in our roasts. Our Cotswold roast beef uses the Striploin cut for texture and deep mature taste. The beef is cooked overnight to produce a tender slice and served rare.

​

We have been working with the same butcher for over 3 years now. Based in Chipping Norton, they have been supplying high quality locally sourced produce to restaurants and pubs for over 30 years.

They have recently been awarded best butcher in Oxfordshire 2023.

There is something about a fresh piece of fish, simply grilled, with a buttery lemon and caper butter that hits the spot.
