Freshly cut asparagus from less than 200 yards from the pub

Updated: Jun 8, 2019

Alan Cox, an Upper Oddington Resident provides the Horse & Groom with yet another batch of freshly cut asparagus for our kitchens. "To receive such high quality produce on a regular basis is a chef's dream" says Sean Higgins, our head chef at the Horse & Groom Inn in Upper Oddington.

This batch of asparagus has made it into a number of specials, including our Asparagus with Hollandaise & Poached egg, Asparagus Soup and Tempura Asparagus stalks. Norman Liu, one of the owners of the Horse & Groom says "We try to use the entire crop and waste as little as possible, we know the tips are the generally regarded as the best bits, but the stalks still has plenty of flavour and texture".

As asparagus season is coming to an end, we are excited to see what else Alan can bring next.
